For Those Who Love Both: Pets, Italian Charms
The latest fashion trend shines a light on this combination: pets, Italian charms. What is that fashion trend? It is the introduction of more and more metallic accessories onto the costumes worn by fashion models. Celebrities, too, are wearing more metallic accessories. So what does that have to do with these two items: pets, Italian charms? Well, pets have long worn an accessory that contained some metal, i.e. a collar. Now the attention on one particular pet may well lead to the appearance of a new Italian charm. The recent attention given to one particular, pet beagle might usher in the sale of a new pet charm.
Thanks to one group of pets, Italian charms may soon have an added charm in the “pet” category. Yet do not look for charms that picture one of the exotic pets. Italian charms continue to have pictures of the typical family pet.
The reader is also mistaken if he or she thinks that there’ll be a new line of charms with pictures of farmyard pets. Italian charms are not going to invite bracelet wearers to display a collection of farm animals. What, then might soon appear at one of the websites where one can purchase Italian charms?
This writer anticipates the appearance of a charm with a picture of a beagle. There may already be a charm with a picture of Snoopy or a picture of Scoopy-Doo, but those are imaginary characters. They are not meant to represent a real pet. Still, one man with a pet beagle has made a name for that beagle.
One man with a well-bred and well-behaved beagle has taken the top prize in the 2008 New York Dog Show. That win has given added notoriety to both his pet, and to the entire breed. When a pet has that sort of notoriety, Italian charm makers have good reason to think about creating a pet charm that bears a picture of a beagle.
Perhaps charm makers could even turn the creation of such a charm into a contest. After all, those of us who own pets, generally make a habit of naming our pets. Italian charms with pet pictures might also deserve a name. Why not invite members of the public to name the beagle that seems destined to appear on a future Italian charm?
Some pet owners love to think-up really crazy names for their pets. Sometimes, they have more ideas for names then they ever have of pets. Such pet owners might want to submit one or more names to the suggested contest.
This writer knows a dog owner who once talked about having a dog named “Moose.” She thought it would be fun to call out “Moose, Moose,” She imagined shouting those words whenever she wanted her dog to abandon what it was doing, and to follow its master’s bidding.
Still, that dog owner did not name her new dog “Moose.” Instead, she decided to name her dog “Coupon.” Are there other pet owners like that woman? If so, they might enjoy picking a name for the beagle on a new Italian charm.
Once the beagle had a name then that name might well go on a different sort of charm—a dog collar charm. No doubt a fair number of pet owners would be eager to provide their pet with such a charm.
